Product Description of 3A Molecular Sieve Desiccant
Selective adsorption based on molecular polarity, unsaturation and
polarizability
Molecular sieves have high affinity for polar molecules and
unsaturated molecules; Among nonpolar molecules, they have higher
selective adsorption advantages for molecules with high
polarizability. In addition, the lower the boiling point of the
molecule, the less likely it is to be adsorbed by the molecular
sieve.
Molecular sieves have high affinity for H2O, NH3, H2S, CO2 and
other polymer polarities, especially for water at low partial
pressure (even lower than 133 PA) or low concentration, high
temperature (even higher than 100 ℃). It still has high adsorption
capacity under adverse conditions.
Molecular sieve is the only available high temperature adsorbent.
At 100 ℃ and 1.3% relative humidity, the molecular sieve can absorb
15% water. Therefore, at higher temperatures, molecular sieves can
still absorb a considerable amount of water.
The cracked gas generally contains 400-700ppm of water, which will form ice during cryogenic separation. In addition, under high pressure and low temperature conditions, water can also form white crystalline hydrocarbon hydrate with low-carbon alkanes (such as CH4, C2H6 and C3H8). The crystals of ice and hydrocarbon hydrate can cause blockage of pipelines and equipment, and even cause shutdown.
Therefore, the petroleum cracked gas must be deeply dehydrated and
dried before cryogenic separation to reduce the water content in
the cracked gas to less than 5ppm (i.e. its dew point is less than
- 60 ℃).
At present, the most ideal deep drying adsorbent recognized and
commonly used in China is 3A zeolite molecular sieve. Because it
only adsorbs water in cracked gas and does not adsorb large
hydrocarbon molecules (such as C2H6, C2H4, C3H8, C3H6, etc.), it
can avoid coking of olefin compounds in the molecular sieve
channels, thus prolonging the service life of the adsorbent.
